High Speed Photography

High speed photography is a useful tool for artistic applications and scientific testing of products and equipment. Single images and event videos are captured using both film and digital equipment, the approach used depends upon subject, required data, and overall cost. For a test one camera or an entire system of cameras can be used all triggered precisely so that the client’s needs are met.

Multiband Imaging

In some cases the use of the visible light spectrum is not sufficient for collecting the necessary data for a project. The two common spectrums are ultraviolet and infrared. There are two main reasons for using multiband imaging techniques, device properties or environment properties. For forensic applications, whether it be document analysis or crime scene documentation ultraviolet provides data which cannot normally be seen by the naked eye. In low light conditions such as indoors and at night, infrared imaging is beneficial for surveillance purposes. A number of different techniques are applied to imaging equipment to enhance the resulting photographs and provide more information.

Specialty Techniques

There are numerous equipment and lighting based techniques which allow for enhanced results for imaging tests. Some examples are Schlieren, Shadowgraph, and Microsecond Flash, when these are applied to the test being formed it provides more information for analysis and ensures the most useful images are achieved.
